Ugandan woodball player;Lilian Zawedde has been honored at the African Women in Sports Initiative(AWISI) in Nairobi Kenya for her contribution to sports.
The Award was presented to her during the launch of the initiative in a glamorous ceremony held on Saturday at Michael Joseph Centre.
An excited Lillian could not believe her eyes before an excited and packed crowd that came to witness the winners of the colorful event.
“I am just grateful to God for the opportunity to be recognized at such an international stage”, Lillian stated.
The Ugandan international sports icon has won many woodball accolades (local and international) respectively. The organizers looked at her prowess and contribution towards accelerating action in sports through woodball within Uganda.
“African Women in Sports initiative award means a lot to me and encourages me to work hard and nature more players especially girls to be great,” Lllian asserted.
The Kampala University coach believes that now is the time to begin grooming and taking the sports discipline to the grass root. With this, the future is bright for the woodball sport in the country.
