LIRA CITY – The motocross world is buzzing with excitement as Uganda’s own Arithea Nakiwala, rider of bike #224, continues to dominate the track. Born on May 6, 1990, Arithea is currently leading the Ladies Category in MX Vets and holding a strong 3rd position overall, proving that passion and persistence can carve out a winning path in motorsport.
Arithea’s entry into the world of motocross was anything but conventional. It all began thanks to her adventurous friend and Sport journalist, Nakimbugwe Sarah Priscilla, whose love for travel introduced Arithea to the thrilling world of motorsport. Captivated by the roar of engines and the rush of dirt tracks, Arithea enrolled in the SEMKA Riding Academy to begin formal training in 2021.
However, without her own bike at the time, Arithea had to pause her dream. But determination never faded. In 2024, after finally securing her own ride, she made a roaring comeback—and the results speak for themselves.
Now, all eyes are on the 4th round of the MX Vets series at Omito Race Track in Lira City, where Arithea confidently declares, “It’s a win in Lira, no doubt.” Her self-belief stems from trust in both her skills and her machine.
She also revealed to Pearl Sports UG that she is preparing to upgrade to a 250cc 4-stroke bike, which she tested during the CAC Championship (MX3). The experience, she says, felt like the perfect fit, offering better control and performance—essential for her aggressive yet precise riding style.
“The 2025 season is not for the weak; it’s for strong women like me who love speed, competition, and fair performance on track,” Arithea declared. Her fierce attitude and unwavering commitment have earned her admiration and respect within the motocross fraternity.
Arithea also expressed deep gratitude to her sponsors, Forester Nation Uganda and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control, for their support in fueling her racing journey.
With her sights set on victory in Lira, one thing is certain—Bike #224 is not just racing: it’s making history.
