Jinja & Kayunga – July 10th–12th, 2025
Eastern Motor Club (EMC) is revving up for one of the most exciting motorsport events of the year – the BUGERERE STABEX EMC Rally, set to take place from July 10th to 12th in the rally-rich regions of Jinja and Kayunga. This electrifying event is proudly sponsored by the State Minister for Finance and Planning Hon. Amos Lugoloobi( Member of Parliament Ntenjeru) and STABEX International as Lead Sponsors, combining the thrill of motorsport with impactful community development.
The official launch of the rally roared to life on July 1st at the Mayor’s Garden in Kayunga, drawing stakeholders from all corners of the motorsport world. The event was headlined by Honorable Amos Lugoloobi, the Guest of Honor, and rally driver Dr. Henry Maseruka, both hailing from Kayunga Bugerere. Dr. Maseruka, who is also being sponsored by the Minister, played a key role in lobbying for support and bringing this high-profile event to the Bugerere community.
Attendees included senior representatives from Eastern Motor Club, the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU), Local Government Officials and local people all of whom expressed strong enthusiasm for the rally and its wider impact.
In a remarkable display of motorsport-driven social responsibility, EMC President Mr. Kees Kagolo – affectionately known in rally circles as KK – unveiled architectural sketch for a new block of classrooms at Great Harvest Primary School, a struggling local school identified during route mapping. The school, serving underprivileged children from community, was found in dire condition with inadequate infrastructure.
This project will be spear headed by EMC in collaboration with Honorable Lugoloobi, Women in Motorsport.ug, event sponsors, and rally fraternities. It stands as a lasting legacy of the rally, proving that motorsport can be a powerful engine for community transformation.
In addition to the school construction, EMC has lined up a range of CSR initiatives throughout the rally weekend, including:
- Tree plantingin partnership with Segamu 14 Consult, promoting environmental conservation.
- Blood donation drives organized in collaboration with Women in Motorsport.ug to support health services in the region.
These activities underscore EMC’s commitment to giving back, ensuring that the rally’s impact goes well beyond the tracks.
Clerk of the Course (COC) Jackson Jay Sserwanga provided technical insights into the rally, outlining how routes were meticulously designed to challenge drivers while ensuring safety and accessibility. He broke down the kilometer coverage of each stage and emphasized the club’s extensive preparations to deliver a top-tier rallying experience.
Fans can expect a thrilling combination of speed, dust, and precision as top drivers battle for the championship 2025 through scenic and challenging terrain across Jinja and Kayunga.
Crowning the excitement, Honorable Amos Lugoloobi himself will take the wheel as a “sweeper” driver on the final day of the rally. His participation is not just symbolic – it reflects his deep passion for motorsport and his vision to use such events as catalysts for economic activity in the region.
“Motorsport brings people together. They’ll eat, drink, sleep, enjoy, and most importantly, spend money in our communities. This rally is not just for entertainment – it’s for economic empowerment,” the Minister noted. He also encouraged locals to seize the opportunity to market their products and services to the influx of visitors.
With pumping action, community spirit, and visionary leadership, the Bugerere STABEX EMC Rally 2025 promises to be more than just a motorsport event. It’s a celebration of speed, unity, and social impact – a model of how sport can accelerate positive change.
Mark your calendars: July 10th–12th. Jinja and Kayunga will be roaring.
