The action-packed 2025 National Karting Championship returns this Saturday, August 2nd, for Round 2 of the 7-round season. This highly anticipated event will take place at the Lubowa Karting Track along Entebbe Road, promising another thrilling showdown between Uganda’s top karting talent.
Organised by the Formula One Association of Uganda (FAU) under the leadership of Club President Mr. Raymond Mugisha, the championship is held under the auspices of the Federation of Motorsport Uganda (FMU). This marks the second season of the national series, which continues to grow in competitiveness and popularity.
The opening round, held at Meraki Karting Track in Bugolobi, set the stage with electrifying races across multiple categories:
- Christian Kisitu claimed victory in the Cadet Class,
- Lucy Kakuru dominated the Female Class, and
- Keije Victor showcased his prowess to win the Pro Class

- Omar Rashid – Disqualified (for in-race kart repair.
The event will be under the experienced supervision of Ibrahim Kyaluzi, who recently flew in from Dubai, where he works with Union Properties, to serve as the Clerk of the Course.
Round 2 will feature a unique layout tailored to challenge all categories – Junior, Senior, and Cadet – and deliver intense racing action. The track opens at 7:00 AM, with driver sign-ups and scrutineering starting at 8:00 AM. Competitors will then get their first look at the track before engines fire up for what’s expected to be a fierce contest.
With rising stars, seasoned racers, and tight standings, the championship is wide open. Fans are encouraged to come down and witness the future of Ugandan motorsport in motion.
