It was full 90 minutes of quality football, great combination from Cranes players and impressive goals that humbled Mozambique, on Friday evening at Mandela National stadium.

To the team, revenge has been achieved on the Mozambican team that had overcome Uganda Cranes in the first encounter of the FIFA 2026 World Cup Qualifier clash in March.

Cranes sensational forward Allan Okello delivered a powerful screamer in the 49th minute to score the team’s first goal.

Rogers Mato scored a brace in the 70th and 84th minutes before Elio Capradossi added more misery on Mozambique with the fourth goal in the 90th minute.

The win moves Uganda Cranes to second on the table with 12 points as Mozambique which was limited to only three shots is relegated to third position with 12 points.

Uganda hosts Somalia on Monday 8 September 2025 and the motivational levels are high ahead of this clash.
