The Taibah schools’ sports independence tournament is back and bigger. Now, in its fifth edition, the event will attract over ten schools vying for top accolades.
At the official launch on Wednesday at the Bwebajja main campus, Oscar Ssemwaya Musoke, the Principal, emphasized the importance of sports in schools and thus the reason for such activities.
“This is our signature event closing the academic year. There are so many success stories to tell home”, Oscar Ssemwaya Musoke said.
The three weeklong tournament sees students taking part in sports disciplines, most especially, football, volleyball, netball and basketball.
Agro link, Pearl of Africa, Ubayyi Islamic secondary school, Vikas international, Kisubi high school, Trinity schools, Elite schools are some of the old guards returning.
Kisubi High School, Trinity schools, Viskas international,Agro Link, Ubayyi Islamic Secondary school,Aga Khan School, Green Hill Academy and Pearl of Africa are some of the schools taking part in this tournament.
The first of the Taibah schools was started in 1991 and thereafter, more branches have evolved with a knack for sports development. The Prinicipal Oscar Ssemweya Musoke has the unending love for sports, the reason Taibah is a sports powerhouse in the country.
