Jacob Kiplimo celebrated his second marathon win of the year in the US State of Illinois. The Ugandan runner finished with a time of 2:02:23 to win the Chicago Marathon on Sunday 12 October 2025.
The 24 year who announced his marathon debut in April this year dominated the entire race that had a list of elite world class runners eventually winning the race that had a cash prize of US$ 100,000 for the winner.
It was a two-three for Kenyans; Amos Kipruto(2:03:54) and Alex Masai( 2:04:37) respectively.
The Ugandan not only set a new personal best time but a new marathon record. On his marathon arrival in London, Kiplimo posted a time of 2:03:37.
In the women’s race, US marathon debutant Hawi Feysa won with a time of 2:14:56 as Ethiopia’s Megertu Alemu managed second position with Magdalena Shauri(Tanzania) securing third position in a time of 2:18:03.
