The event in its 15th edition has received a financial package of Twenty-Two Million Two Hundred Thirty Thousand Shillings only (UGX 22,230,000) from the sponsors; Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda.
While announcing the contribution in a press conference on Wednesday, ICPAU Manager for Business Development; Lydia Tusiime highlighted key issues that have kept the wood ball partnership stronger.
“As ICPAU, we shall continue to support woodball because of its benefits most especially, teamwork, strategic thinking, long skills beyond the game and the support it has regarding hand and eye coordination. This highlights our commitment and tagline of creating impact in communities”, Lydia emphasized.
World Ahead Secondary School Matugga are the hosts of this prestigious event that is due on Saturday, 14th June 2025. Over 400 participants from primary and secondary schools have registered to take part in the championship.
Uganda Woodball Federation president Paul Mark Kayongo applauded ICPAU for being at the forefront of woodball since its inception and nurturing talent right from the grass root levels.
“The ICPAU has played a very pivotal role in nurturing the talents of the young generation in this country through sponsoring the National Junior and Youth woodball competitions since 2013”, Kayongo stated.
The 2024 edition was successfully held in Lwengo district and this year, Wakiso District is more than ready to receive players for the one-day competitive event.
