KCB Bank Uganda has reaffirmed its commitment to the growth of motorsport in Uganda after officially unveiling a major sponsorship package for the 2026 National Rally Championship (NRC) season. The bank will support all eight championship events organized by the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda, alongside direct backing of the KCB Bank Rally Team drivers, reinforcing its long-term investment in performance sport and youth talent development.
The sponsorship package includes UGX 560 million dedicated to the 2026 NRC calendar and UGX 380 million allocated to the KCB Bank Rally Team. The announcement was made during a ceremony attended by motorsport stakeholders, media, and corporate representatives, signaling another strong season ahead for rallying in Uganda.
With strong financial and technical backing, the KCB-supported drivers will compete in high-performance rally machinery built for speed, endurance, and reliability on gravel terrain:
Oscar Ntambi – ARC2 Champion 2026 – Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X
Mike Mukula Jr – Subaru Impreza N14
Nasser Mutebi – Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX
The team’s distinctive green livery is expected to stand out throughout the season as the drivers aim for strong results across different rally terrains.
During the unveiling ceremony, managing director KCB Bank Edgar Byamah emphasized that the partnership reflects the bank’s values of performance, innovation, discipline, and teamwork. He noted that motorsport provides an important platform to inspire young talent while promoting Uganda’s sporting excellence.
The cheque was officially handed over to Jimmy Akena, President of FMU, marking the continuation of a partnership that has contributed significantly to the development of rally sport in the country.
The 2026 NRC season will begin with the highly anticipated KCB Mbale Rally scheduled for March 27–28 in Mbale, marking the return of competitive rally action to the region after several years.
A number of experienced drivers have confirmed participation in the season opener, including, Ambrose Byona Omunyeto, Duncan Mubiru, Ronald Ssebuguzi, Musa Ssegaabwe, Yasin Nasser, Walter Kibande, Mansoor Lubega among others.
Through this sponsorship, KCB Bank Uganda continues to position itself as a key partner in the advancement of motorsport, supporting competition, innovation, and national sporting pride.
The 2026 season is expected to deliver competitive action across all eight rounds, with fans anticipating exciting performances from both experienced champions and emerging drivers supported under the KCB banner.
