Jinja, Uganda – The countdown to the TT Drags and Drift 2025 Championship just got more electrifying with the return of a forgotten legend. Markson Joseph Golola Kaweesa, famously known as Man Joe, is back on home soil after over two decades in South Africa, and he’s not here for sightseeing — he’s here to win.
Born on December 10th, 1979, in Kasaggombe, Wakiso District, to the late Ssalongo Markson Kaweesa Ssabwe and Mrs. Nalongo Rebecca Namaganda Ssabwe, Man Joe has always had racing fuel running through his veins. A devoted motorsport Fan since the age of 10 years, he credits his passion to his grandfather, Wilson Simbwa, whose love for speed inspired a lifelong dedication to the art of racing.
After relocating to South Africa in 2004, Man Joe built a successful business dealing in new and used car spares — but his love for motorsport never wavered. Now, at 45, he’s making a bold comeback, debuting at TT Drags and Drift for the very first time, and he’s coming with nothing but confidence, style, and a dream.
Behind the wheel of his sleek BMW Dolphin E36, Man Joe is not just another contender; he’s a statement. “I didn’t come back home to spectate,” he says. “I came back to take over. I believe in my skills, my style, and my speed.”
One of the most talked-about moments during the recent TT Drags and Drift launch was the jaw-dropping stunt by Man Joe’s team — a rider sliding outside the car mid-track while Man Joe handled the machine with surgical precision. It was more than just entertainment; it was a warning shot to every other racer in the competition.
He’s not just chasing a trophy — he’s chasing a vision. “One day, I’ll build a naturally aspirated car that will beat all the turbocharged monsters on the track. It’s not just a dream — it’s a promise,” he adds with the same bold flair that has made him a crowd favorite already.
