17-time League Champions, SC Villa is headed for an elective assembly slated for 22nd March 2026 at East High Ntinda.
In an Annual General Meeting held at the same venue on Sunday March 1, 2026, Gerard Ssendaula, the board chairperson revealed that all is set and candidates should begin picking forms as soon as Tuesday 3rd March 2026.
Club President Hajji Omar Mandela received a standing ovation from the members who pleaded with him to continue serving the club until great milestones are realized for the club that is rich in history, fan base and pedigree.
To Mandela, he envisions SC Villa of 100 years to come; one which is strong financially.
“I am very happy to be at the helm of Villa and in our first term, we have managed to clear all debts, got sponsors and the club is strong. The Number one target is to get a home, and I am happy that the President of Uganda got land where we are to construct a stadium”, Mandela stamped.
Mandela further hinted on key things that he believes will propel the club to great heights in the footballing world.
“We need to work as a team, accountability is crucial and above all, a good foundation for the club is inevitable,”Mandela noted.
The business mogul who founded among others, City Tyres, City Oil, Café Javas, Mandela Millers and Mandela Auto spares was convinced by former club president Capo Franco Mugabe,Gerard Ssendawula William Nkemba and Kavuma, to return and lead the giant club.
At first, he hesitated but due to the love of football, he made a return to the club and in 2023-2024, Villa won its 17th league title.
Now with the date set, Mandela has assured club members that he is not going to run away but rather work towards making Villa, the best team in the country.
