The Engines pumping 2025 National Rally Championship (NRC) calendar roars into its fourth round this July 10th to 12th with an event organized by none other than the Eastern Motor Club (EMC), a name synonymous with top-tier rally organization and unforgettable motorsport action. Set against the scenic and culturally rich backdrops of Jinja—the “Land of source of the mighty Nile and the rolling sugar plantations of Kayunga District, this rally promises not just fast-paced excitement but significant consequences in the title race.
With only a few rounds left in the NRC season, the stakes are sky-high. This Jinja – Kayunga leg is more than just a race it’s a battlefield where the current order could be shaken dramatically. The drivers in the NRC top tier know the pressure: one win could cement their place at the summit, one DNF could shatter their championship dreams.
Leading the charge is rally legend Ronald Ssebuguzi, but hot on his heels are seasoned warriors; Musa Ssegaabwe, Ponsiano Lwakataka, Duncan ‘Kikankane’ Mubiru, and the quietly consistent Didas Matsiko, who’s been silently collecting crucial points while the big guns battle up front. With everyone needing a strong result, and no one safe from the brutal unpredictability of the sport, the Jinja Rally could be a title-defining showdown.
While all eyes are on the NRC giants, the Clubman Rally Championship (CRC) is heating up just as fiercely. Walter Kibande currently holds the lead but must secure a podium finish to keep the likes of Robert Ssentongo Nkima, Ahmed Kateete and Kevin Bebeto at bay. Bebeto and Mwambazi, in particular, knows that at this point in the season, only a win will keep their championship hopes alive.
The rally routes itself are set to challenge crews, Jinja offers high-speed sections flanked by beautiful tourist destinations and river views, while Kayunga’s iconic sugar plantation tracks promise dust, daring corners, and the kind of rally terrain that tests both car and crew to the limit.
Spectators can expect thrilling action, with tight splits, dramatic overtakes, and the ever-looming threat of mechanical failure or off-road excursions. The Eastern Motor Club has a reputation for designing unpredictable and entertaining rally routes—this year will be no different.
As rally fans mark their calendars for July 10th–12th, the motorsport community is abuzz with speculation and excitement. Will Ssebuguzi tighten his grip on the title? Can Ssegaabwe Musa Dare!! Will Lwakataka or Kikankane upset the odds? Can Kibande keep the CRC crown within reach?
One thing is certain: only drivers with big foot and fire in their hearts will survive the pressure in this critical round. Jinja and Kayunga await—and the road to the championship runs right through them.
The rally is proudly powered by;Hon. Amos Lugoloobi, Stabex, KCB Bank,Internatinal University of East Africa, Segamu 14 Consult, Drugs Express, Gulu Made and Across The Nile Resort Adventure Park.
