Amateur boxing stakeholders have formed an interim boxing committee that is meant to reorganize the Uganda Boxing Federation. In an exclusive interview with Sam Rukundo, the interim chairman, boxing is destined for bigger things as the interim executive begins work basing on a 6 month’ road map.

“We have engaged the National Council of Sports regarding UBF issues. Our team is ready to execute a highly structured plan categorized into four operational phases,” Rukundo noted. The former boxer notes that the suspended UBF executive has thrown the sport into disarray, the reason, it needs to be cleaned up.

The interim committee’s transitional mandate moves away from historical politics, replacing them with a world class, inclusive framework designed to secure long-term public and corporate funding. The committee bases its powers from the 2013 constitution which is recognized and approved by the National of Sports.

With Moses Kapere Muhangi suspended by clubs aligned to the 2013 UBF constitution, the world is waiting to see what will unfold. The Interim Executive is determined to execute its duties and restore amateur boxing to its rightful place.

The pace has been set; boxers are craving for the best, and the interim is more than ready to unleash the best recipe for the boxing community in the country. It is now UBF interim knocking out Moses Kapere Muhangi and comfortably saying; Bye Bye Kapere.
