Southern Motor Club continues to shine on the continental stage. The just concluded Serengeti Rally, which was the final round of the ARC, marked the turning point for the rally crew of Dr. Nsereko Godfrey and John Bosco Musisi.
The crew won the ARC 4 category after posting a total cumulative time of 02:45:47.7. Dr.Nsereko famously known as ” Crazy Doc” finished 6th overall to cement a remarkable performance in Morogoro, Tanzania and thus earning continental recognition from the continental body.
Viga Sports Lounge, the home of SMC provided the perfect venue on Tuesday, October 6,2026 as the crew was officially welcomed and honored for the big win.
Club patron Ponsiano Lwakataka said that SMC is a unique club that has and continues to mentor rally drivers.” Our club is a unique club that has produced champions, both on the local level and the continental stage. Africa has so many drivers, but SMC has done it for Uganda,”Ponsiano said.
Dr.Nsereko, who registered for the continental championship with other Ugandan rally drivers attributed the team’s success, to good preparation, resilience, teamwork and the good condition of the car.” Our team was well prepared for the rally. Day one was good, but we faced a few challenges on Day two of the event,”Nsereko noted.
His competitors failed to secure points in Kenya Safari Rally, Pearl of Africa Rally and Mt.Rwandan Gorilla Rally. The Serengeti event provided the best recipe for Nsereko, who now enters FIA ARC 4 books as the African champion in a Toyota Etios. He now prefers the name,’Mr. Etios’.
The professional doctor has also registered to take part in the Rajiv Ruparelia memorial rally slated for 8th-10th October 2026, traversing different sections in Gulu.
