Etincelles FC is currently 10th on the Rwanda Premier League. The forward joins from Mbale Heroes FC, where he made a strong impression in Uganda’s football scene.
Katumba has been one of the stand out players at Mbale Heroes. He is remembered for his impressive performances in the club’s 3-2 Stanbic Uganda Cup defeat to Simba FC, scoring two goals.
Speaking about his move, Katumba expressed his enthusiasm,
“I am excited for this new opportunity at Etincelles FC. I’m ready to give my all, contribute to the team, and make an impact in the Rwanda Premier League.” Said Katumba
He has the ability to score goals, create chances, and play across multiple attacking positions, Katumba is expected to be a game changer for his new side.
Katumba’s football journey began at Kick-Off Sports Academy in 2015, where he developed into a promising young talent. He gained recognition in Uganda Secondary Schools Football and later featured for Gomba Lions in the prestigious Masaza Cup tournament.
He had trials with AIK Sweden FC, Vasalunds IF (Sweden), and Interturk.
In January 2024, he signed for Express FC, where he gained top-flight experience before moving to Mbale Heroes FC at the start of the 2024/25 season.
At Etincelles FC, Katumba will be aiming at impressing in the Rwanda Premier League. His new home, Etincelles FC is based in Rubavu.
Denis Ssenyondwa, Robert Mukhogotya and Denis Kaweesa are the other Ugandans at Etincelles.
APR trio of Taddeo Lwanga, Denis Omedi and Hakim Kiwanuka are the other Ugandans who feature in the Rwanda Premier league.
