- President
- Secretary General
- Promoter’s Representative
- Public Relations Officer
- Treasurer
The Uganda Professional Boxing Commission has set Saturday 31st May 2025 as the date for the elective Annual General Assembly. This follows a stake holders meeting that sat on 10th May 2025 at Club Obbligato.
In an exclusive meeting with UPBC interim Chairman Eddie Bazira, he is hopeful that professional body will enter a new dawn as a sanctioning and regulatory body.
“Now that we are done with proposed amendments of the UPBC constitution, the next step is to organize the assembly where stakeholders will vie for elective positions,” Bazira said.
NCS is taking sides
The soft spoken boxing leader lashed out at National Council of Sports for taking sides in the ongoing impasse between UPBC and Uganda Boxing Federation.
“It’s very unfortunate that our regulator ;NCS is showing signs of taking sides and yet it was agreed in a meeting with Sports Minister HON.Peter Ogwang that UPBC and UBF should work together for purposes of growing the sport”,Bazira asserted.
He is quick to accept that the act is not bad but National Council of Sports is bent towards UBF yet the two bodies are supposed to work together.
UPBC has operated as a registered entity running professional boxing since 1988 and has sanctioned many fights to that effect in the country.
