Naguru is a hill in Kampala,the capital city of Uganda. It is primed for being one of the greatest places for nurturing sports talent in different disciplines.
Real Star Sports Agency in its August edition decided to reward its best from the home of 1978 Uganda Cranes legend, Abbey Nasur. The ailing 72-year-old Nasur felt elated by the Life Achievers’ Award that was handed over to him by Mukasa Isaac, the Chief Executive Officer,Real Star Sports Agency.
“I thank you for this accolade, and for always remembering me,” Nasur said.
Nasur who started playing football in Naguru Youth team played for five teams before winning three Cecafa titles with the Cranes (1973, 1976 and 1977). The ailing Nasur also played at two Africa Cup of Nations (1974 and 1978).
The category of 1978 has two other remaining legends; Tom Lwanga and Paul Ssali respectively.
The rally crew of Ponsiano Lwakataka and Paul Musaazi was rewarded for an outstanding win in last month’s UMC Fort Portal Tourism city rally as Cranes Chan Captain Rogers Torach, guided the team to the quarters of the tournament.
