Uganda’s league champions Vipers SC will face Power Dynamos from Zambia after eliminating Namibia’s African Stars 2-0 on aggregate. It was a 1-0 win on each leg for Vipers to advance into the final preliminary round of the CAF champions League.
The Ugandan side won the first leg 1-0 in Cape Town, South Africa(Hillary Mukundane goal) before winning the return leg 1-0 at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende on Saturday through Yunus Sentamu’s strike in the 61st minute.
Power Dynamos eliminated Ivory Coast giants ASEC Mimosas after a thrilling two-legged tie, which ended 1-1 on aggregate. Power Dynamos won the first leg 1-0 while ASEC levelled the aggregate score with 1-0 win in Abidjan, courtesy of a Fofana strike in the 53rd-Minute. The tie was decided in a penalty shootout with Power Dynamos advancing in the second round.
Vipers will host the first leg at St.Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on the weekend of 17th to 19th October, 2025,before travelling to Kitwe for the return leg on October 24-26,2025.
The winner between the two will qualify to the group stages of the Total Energies CAF champions League.
