The Uganda Squash Rackets Association with full backing from the National Council of Sports has officially launched the Squash Federation of Africa Seniors’ Championship. At the launch ceremony presided over by National Council of Sports Officer James Kasumba(Monday 17 November 2025), a lot of pomp and glamour filled the media hall in Pearl of Africa Hotel.
The six-day event has drawn competitors from nine African countries with Uganda presenting the highest number of players. The prestigious tournament, a key event on the African Squash calendar will run from November 17-22, 2025.
Kasumba on his part implored the Ugandan team for a good performance in this prestigious tournament that has attracted a total of 84 players from nine confirmed countries.
“This is one of the greatest opportunities for Team Uganda and it is your time to shine. Follow what the coaches will tell you and the end will justify the means”, Kasumba said.
The General Secretary of Uganda Squash Rackets Association, Shifa Nantambi confirmed that prize money is at stake for the different category winners courtesy of Government.
A delegation of top leadership from the World Squash Federation, Squash Federation of Africa and the East Africa Squash Federation is expected to be in attendance.
