Excitement engulfed Eureka Place Ntinda, inside Leah Hall as boxing enthusiasts embraced and witnessed a lifelong partnership between Uganda Professional Boxing Commission and Friends of Boxing.
Boxing talk thrilled the audience with UPBC President Eddie Bazira noting that this partnership has come to change the face of professional boxing in the country.
“Today marks a milestone in the journey of UPBC. The missing link has been on development of talent. Our commitment is to see to it that create a value chain for our boxers as well as improvement on boxers’ welfare”, Bazira asserted.
The head of Marketing at F.O.B,Frank Rulinda, painted a positive picture for the boxing community with emphasis on structures.
“As Friends of Boxing, we are running this development initiative, we shall be able to extend boxing beyond. With proper structures and support, we shall be able to shine”, Frank said.
It is a partnership that benefits the different stakeholders in the boxing community and the marriage to UPBC is one to bear fruitful fruits.
” Boxing has fans, coaches, officials, boxers and so on. All boxing stakeholders will be able to benefit as we have talent in surplus in the country”, Frank further noted.
The partnership sees F.O.B striking gold in the areas of marketing and development of the sport.
