It’s a defining chapter for the Cricket Cranes as they fly out to Tanzania for the final campaign of the ICC cricket World Cup Challenge League B, aiming to advance to the next stage of the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup qualification.
Uganda heads into the August 6-19 assignment top of the six team standings after securing eight wins and two no results from a total of 10 matches.
The team Head Coach Steve Tikolo believes that the players are determined to get the much needed victories for Cricket Cranes.” We had team discussion on how we shall go about this tournament. Preparations have been good and we had gym sessions on having fitness levels high,”Tikolo said.
Five Games, One At A time
“At the back of our minds, there is that three wins, but personally I would want to take it one game at a time. I’ve also spoken to the boys about it but we would also want to win all our five games,” said Tikolo.
Captain Riazat Ali Shah is confident that the team will perform well.” We are very excited to go and perform as a team. The coach has been working with us. This event is important for us as we qualify for ODI status.
The final leg will be played at the University of Dar es Salaam Complex Tanzania.
