The organizers of the Fortebet Real Stars Monthly Awards have honored women football star Agnes Nabukenya, basketball players;Matrina Anyango and Nyembo Fataki Franck for the best of August 2026. In a colourful ceremony held at Nanjing Restaurant Kololo, on Tuesday September 2026, the organizers rewarded the sports personalities for their achievements in the different sports disciplines.
In football, Kawempe Muslim Ladies Football Club captain, Agnes Nabukenya played a vital role as the team qualified for the CAF champions league. The young player scored the decisive goal as Kawempe defeated Kenya Police Bullets 1-0 in a tense extra time final of the Cecafa qualifiers in Kigali.
She beat KCCA’s Ssali Mayanja and NEC FC’s Richard Basangwa to the top award.
Basketball player Nyembo Fataki Franck, who plays for Namuwongo Blazers, helped the team retain the basketball title following their win over City Oilers in Hoima. The sensational player was also named the Most Valuable Player of the Uganda national basketball league.
Real stars also rewarded Matrina Anyango who plays for UCU Lady Canons in the national basketball league. Anyango helped UCU Lady Canons overcome JT Lady Jaguars 63-49 in game 5 of the electrifying final. The success was attributed to Anyango who averaged 16 points and 12 rebounds throughout the playoffs.
Kawempe Muslim coach Ayub Khalifa received the Lifetime Achievement Award, for his dedicated service to women football, spanning 25 years. The award with the wordings,’ Your legacy of excellence will continue to inspire generations,’ indeed carried a message of honor.
