The 2026 edition of the Hamz Cup has received an increase in prize money following a football nod from Hamis Kiggundu, the proprietor, Ham Group of Companies.
An excited Ham delivered the positive message through Tournament Coordinator, Kasirye Hakim on 24 July 2026 in a presser held at Hamz stadium.
“Our Chairman, Hamis Kiggundu is very excited by the level of competition in this tournament and the growing numbers. It is on that note that he has decided to increase the prize money as a sign of appreciation and motivation,” Kasirye said.
Kasirye, who also doubles as the Technical Head revealed that five teams are also leading the pack for the team with the biggest fan base. TikTok, Arsenal fans Uganda, Manchester United fans, Buganda Kombucha and La Prince, are creating the much-needed vibe in the ongoing tournament.
32 teams are competing in the competitive event that started on 6th June 2026. The first edition had UGX 50M in prize money before increasing to UGX 100M in the 2025 edition, which was the second.
