The travelling squad of 24 players and 9 officials have safely arrived in Cairo ahead of Sunday’s return leg of the Confederation of Africa Football Confederation cup against African giants, Al Ahly from Egypt.
According to the club statement, the team is accommodated at Hotel Tolip.
“This is to inform you all that the team has arrived safely in Cairo ahead of our CAF confederation cup return match against Al Ahly SC on Sunday.
We have checked in at Hotel Tolip for accomodation and meals.
The boys will train this evening under the floodlights of Cairo international Stadium at exactly 7pm.
“We are the Royals ”
Kitara lost the first leg 2-1 and must now overturn their first leg deficit against Al Ahly with a two-goal victory.
Bossa, the missing factor
Kitara coach Wasswa Bossa misses this crucial clash against the Egyptians as a result of lacking the required CAF A coaching license. His assistant, George Lutalo once again, takes over the mantle in Cairo. Wasswa’s presence on the touchline and his tactical instructions to the players, has always created a cutting edge.
However, that will be missed as, instructions will be delivered through a messenger and communication relayed using walkie talkies.
It is an important moment for the, ‘Royals’ on Sunday against Africa’s most decorated team, rich in pedigree and a CAF Confederation Cup title, won in 2014.
