The organizers of the Fortebet Real Stars Sports Monthly Awards have recognized four outstanding sports personalities for the month of March 2026.
In a colorful ceremony held at Nanjing Restaurant on Tuesday 7th April 2026, the disciplines of football, motor rally, boxing and athletics, were exceptionally rewarded.
Ugandan Long-distance Jacob Kiplimo set a new half marathon world record at the 2026 EDP Lisbon Half Marathon on 8TH March 2026. The 25 year old reclaimed the Men’s Half Marathon finishing in 57 minutes and 20 seconds respectively.
He outcompeted Abbey Chelangat and Sarah Chelangat for the prestigious award.
In motor-rally, the crew of Hassan Alwi and Musa Nsubuga scooped the award following its win in Mbale.
The crew, driving a ford proto, set the pace from the start to win the opening round of the KCB National Rally Championship in a cumulative time of 1:12:42.
Sensational pugilist David Semujju was also awarded for his remarkable performance in Japan. The Ugandan successfully defended the WBO Asian Pacific and Japanes National Welterweight titles.
Women Footballer star Maureen Kiiza of Uganda Martyrs deserved the award after finishing ahead of Marion Serenga and Jovia Nakagolo of Kawempe Muslim Ladies. She scored four goals in the league and made three important assists for the team.
