The Kampala University woodball team has vowed to defend the Taifa international woodball championship due 3rd-5th July 2026 at MKU Thika Grounds in Kenya.
In an exclusive interview with coach player, Lillian Zawedde,the team anticipates a tough challenge from competing teams, but they have prepared enough ahead of the 6th edition of the prestigious tournament.
“We are getting ready to defend and working on our game as a team. We are missing out on some players on the national team who are in camp, but we shall fight and win,” Lillian said.
The legendary player is grateful for the University’s support in this championship.” We thank the University management for the trust they have given us again by funding us for this championship and we promise to do our best, “Lillian noted.
The University team won last year’s championship, emerging as the overall champions after collecting a total of 13 medals with, 6 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals respectively.
