Every rally driver is excited to be part of the finest sprint championship due 5th July 2026 at the Victoria Raceway Track in Garuga. Indicators point to the fact that it is the first of its kind to be organized by Uganda Rally Drivers Association.
URDA president Didas Masiko is optimistic that the event will live to its billing since drivers are at the forefront. Fans will be treated to great action in motocross and motorsport respectively.
The Thursday launch at Garuga created an aura for Julius Ssemambo ‘Mukalo’ who bragged about beating rally machines owned by the likes of Sebuguzi Ronald, Yasin Nasser, Duncan Mubiru and Moses Lumala.
“It is my time to shine, and I am prepared for Garuga, this coming Sunday. I will win those frogs hands down,”Mukalo emphasized.
The Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda acting president Hajji Hamidu Gombe noted that the federation supports drivers and it is the reason, they were given a sprint for their welfare.
“Rally Drivers play a critical role in motorsport. This is just the beginning, and it will also stretch to motocross. Let us put more emphasis on safety, which is the cornerstone of motorsport in the country,” Gombe said.
The electrifying sprint running under the theme, ’Drive safe,follow the rules,stay alive’ has attracted over 50 drivers counting towards the sprint championship.
The championship is powered by Rosefoam Matresses, Komodo, Beyond Cotton and Nivana Water respectively.
