A contingent of 32 people including players, parents and coaches has on Tuesday 18 August 2026 left for Munich aboard Qatar Airways ahead of an exciting football and tourism experience expected to cover 12 days respectively.
The kids who were flagged off by Fufa CEO and Edgar’s Director, Edgar Watson Suubi looked happy as they departed Uganda.
In a flag off ceremony held at African Bible University in Lubowa, Edgar Watson appreciated the role played by parents in supporting the young stars from the grassroot, a thing that has gone a long way in shaping most of their footballing careers.
Watson reminded the guest that the academy has been and continues to be at the forefront of nurturing talents, up to the national league and the national team.
He was quick to cite examples of players who have been with the youth program most especially Stephen Mukwala (Al Nasr-Libya), Saidi Mayanja (KCCA FC) and Ibrahim Mugulusi (UPPC FC), among others.
The Director noted that this trip is about changing the way people see things.”You will see culture and how countries develop. Make friends where you can and learn. Tourism is also part of the journey, “Edgar said.
This is the first trip after the covid outbreak and more trips are planned especially regional tours to Zanzibar and there after Italy.
During the 12-day experience, players will explore many opportunities in sight seeing, training camps, scheduled football matches, visit stadiums especially the Allianz Arena and Red Bull Salzburg among others.
The team returns on 27th August 2026.
